Benztropine mesylate tablets are prescription tablets for oral use. The label says they are used as an adjunct in the therapy of all forms of parkinsonism and also for control of extrapyramidal disorders caused by neuroleptic drugs, except tardive dyskinesia.
The tablets contain benztropine mesylate in strengths of 0.5 mg, 1 mg, or 2 mg. The label notes that benztropine has anticholinergic and antihistaminic effects, with the anticholinergic effect considered therapeutically significant in parkinsonism.
