Nail Polish Remover recalled due to the detection of methylene chloride and chloroform in the affected product—both hazardous substances that are strictly prohibited in cosmetic formulations.
Recall Summary
Name of Product: Nail Polish Remover
Hazard: The nail polish remover was found to contain methylene chloride and chloroform, methylene chloride, in cosmetics, is a concern because it has been shown to cause cancer in animals and is likely harmful to human health. Methylene chloride is a prohibited ingredient which is not allowed in cosmetics at any level under FDA regulations.
Remedy: Refund
Consumers should stop using the recalled Nail Polish Remover immediately and clearly mark the product bottle and its outer packaging with the word “Recalled” in a prominent location. Subsequently, please safely dispose of the entire product (including the bottle and any remaining contents) in your regular household waste, in accordance with local waste disposal regulations.
