Overview

Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets are a prescription medicine used along with rest and physical therapy for short-term relief of muscle spasm linked to acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. The label says it helps relieve muscle spasm and related pain, tenderness, limited motion, and reduced ability to do daily activities.

It is not recommended for use longer than two or three weeks because longer use has not been shown to be effective for this purpose. The label also says it is not effective for spasticity from cerebral or spinal cord disease, or for children with cerebral palsy.
